September 26, 2017 – A shopping center located at the northeast corner of Whipple Avenue and Everhard Road in Canton, Ohio, has come a long way since DeVille Developments hired Goodman Real Estate Services Group to market a shopping-center-turned-office-building into the beautifully redesigned, highly competitive retail destination it is today. The conversion of this former Hills Department Store into a call center 15 years ago practically killed this 40,000-vehicle-per-day intersection. Now, retailers and restaurants are again clamoring to locate there.

The Venue at Belden, which boasts anchors HomeGoods, SteinMart, Kirkland’s and Earth Fare’s fourth location in the State of Ohio, began construction in 2015 with a significant portion of the center pre-leased. About 30,000 SF of the pre-existing center was demolished with the balance of the center refurbished with new store-fronts, sidewalks, lighting, landscaping, and signage. Two large pylon signs were redesigned and a very tall highway visible sign was constructed. All anchors were open and operating in time for the 2016 holiday season.

Other Venue at Belden tenants include a 7,000 SF Skechers store, and restaurants Moe’s Southwest Grill, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Waffle House, and American Oven – Homestyle Kitchen. Women’s apparel mainstay Talbots recently opened and Fat Head’s Brewpub, an outpost of the popular local craft brewery based in North East Ohio will open in the fall of this year.
