This year, Goodman Real Estate Services Group LLC celebrated their 20th year anniversary. The company began in 1998, when founders, Randy Goodman, President, and Richard Edelman, Senior Vice President/Principal, combined their individual successes in the commercial real estate industry to form their own company.
A few projects that Goodman Real Estate Services Group has been involved in creating over the past two decades include:
- The 800,000-square-foot Avon Commons, which opened in 2001, developed by First Interstate Properties. This project established Avon as a primary northeast Ohio retail trade area.
- Legacy Village Shopping Center, Cleveland’s first lifestyle center which opened in 2003. By 2004, Goodman Real Estate Services Group LLC moved into its current office at The Offices at Legacy Village.
- The 750,000-square-foot Steelyard Commons, another First Interstate Properties development. Steelyard Commons has been a huge benefit to the residents of Cleveland and has filled a large void for retailers in the city and helped usher in the residential boom occurring in the city today.
The company expanded to represent the entire state of Ohio and became licensed in Indiana and Kentucky, in addition to doing tenant representation work in Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and as far as northern New Jersey. Because of this experience, garnered over the last 10+ years, they currently work with Rural King on new store acquisition and existing space and disposition in multiple states.
The Investment Sales Group, a division of the company, has completed deals in 20 states. In 2017 alone, agents handled $297 million in transactions and are currently marketing over 370 acres of outlots and other parcels as well as 10.6 million square feet of shopping center space. Goodman Real Estate has worked with some of the world’s largest clients including 31 completed deals with TJX Companies, 74 completed deals with Chipotle and 42 completed deals with Chick-fil-A. And, as a preferred partner with Starbucks for over 10 years, are nearing 60 completed deals, which include almost 40 new stores and 20 relocations from Columbus to Cleveland, including Toledo and Youngstown.
The Goodman Real Estate team currently consists of 16 agents backed by an 8-person marketing team and support staff. In 2015, their Columbus, Ohio, office opened to help serve the expansion of properties and clients.
